About So-Me Music
So-Me Music provide music education solutions to schools and teachers that need help due to staffing problems and budget cuts.
So-Me Music offers primary and early years classroom teachers, including those with no music teaching backgrounds, a comprehensive year long curriculum that comes in a complete digital package containing all the resources and instructions needed to run an effective and enjoyable music program.
We understand that due to budget cuts and lack of available music educators, state schools in the UK and public schools in the US often struggle with finding opportunities for students to explore their interest in music as well as exposing the general student body to the advantages of having a well-funded music department. It is our hope that the structure of the packages offered by So-Me Music will enable a wide variety of teachers to deliver effective and enjoyable music lessons.
Each lesson is meticulously planned so that teachers with little to no music teaching experience can closely follow the step-by-step instructions laid out by the lesson plans and use the audio files and videos to support the learning, and teachers with a background in music literacy can follow the provided music scores to perform the songs themselves and use the package as an introduction to the effective Kodaly approach of music education.
Music is an essential part of every child’s education. It stimulates the brain in a way that is highly beneficial to the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of the child. Music education is a subject that is worthy of study in its own right, and the So Me Music curriculum packages seek to enable all educators to be able to effectively teach the subject thus exposing more students to benefits of music.
